Sweetscents Haul

Hello, dear readers and passers-by :)

In the past few months I managed to get a hold of some new mineral eyeshadows.
SWEETSCENTS, baby! This is one of my discoveries in 2010 and I'm quite please with what they have to offer. In general, I'm in awe with mineral eyeshadow and blushers.

Here are the pictures of the products, I don't have the swatches yet because I'm doing a Sweetscents overview soon and they will be included then. But the pictures give you a pretty good idea of what they are like in person.

What I got are (from left to right):
  • Sweetscents mineral eyeshadow in shade Midnight Moon
  • Sweetscents mineral eyeshadow in shade Camelot Beige
  • Sweetscents mineral eyeshadow in shade Smokey Quartz and Diamons

Sweetscents mineral eyeshadow swatches in shade Midnight Moon, Camelot Beige, Smokey Quartz and Diamondsa

On the the mini review/opinion.

Firstly, Camelot Beige.
Nothing special, not a unique shade. It has loads of silver glitter and I find it obnoxious. The glitter goes all over the place and you'll end up with a glitter-contaminated face.

Not impressive. I would advise you against it. I'm personally considering sifting it.It would make a gorgeous nail polish. Just add it to any clear polish you may have.
Secondly, Midnight Moon.

Gorgeous looking mineral if I may say so myself.
It's gold glitter with a teal tint to it. Beautiful. Unoftunately, it doesn't agree with my skin tone. And again, like iwth Camelot Beige, I find the glitter to be too obnoxious for my liking.

It makes a KILLER nail polish, too. I wish I knew how to make swatches of nail polish :D
If I figure it out, i'm showing this beauty for sure.

Finally, Smokey Quartz and Diamons.

Holly veneral disease Batman. Tis oh so beautiful and I'm extremly happy with how it looks on my skin tone, eye color etc.
It's a medium chocolate brown with silver sparkle through it.
Not dramatic, nothing special - it simply works for me. And I'm glad it does, it means I get to do more daytime brown smokey eyes that still look flattering witout being too boring or over the top.

In general, I'd say none of the colors are essentials, unless you are starting out with make up and need a good neutral brown. You should definately skip Camelot Beige. With Midnight Moon it's hard to tell, a lot of people can pull it off, just not me. You may wish to consider samples.

Hope this was helpful in some way.

Pretty! Midnight Moon looks gorgeous but I'm not a fan of shades that get glitter all over :(

Hmm most serious nail polish swatchers usually swatch on fake nails, I think. You can buy like, whole packs of loose ones for fairly cheap. ;D

Not worth the investment :P I might try taking pictures of my nails.
I'm just simply eyeshadow girl, not nail polish girl.

And yeah, I was quite sad the glittter doesn't stay put. It probably would on sth like Fyrinnea's PE.

@MartianDelights
key word 'looks'. it's rather impractical in all other regards.

You should try a look with midnight moon..i love it...

As for the polishes..i make some of my own colours sometimes...i only take white matte polish and put the eyeshadow in and if it needs, a little bit of black polish...
